Veggies for Neighbours

One of the special things about City Beet is that many of our eaters live in the same neighbourhoods where we grow our veggies. It is such a privilege that you choose to buy produce from us. However, we know that not everyone in our neighbourhoods can afford to buy our veggies, or other fresh, farmers market- quality produce, so Veggies For Neighbours is our way of making some of our produce more accessible.

Thanks to donations from many of our community members and some grant funding, we were able to provide Little Mountain Neighbourhood House's Food Hub (LMNH) with over $3,000 worth of veggies throughout the 2022 season.

In 2023, we're expanding our efforts and in addition to sharing veggies with LMNH, we'll also be partnering with Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House and Jewish Family Services. All three organizations are in Mount Pleasant and Riley Park, and distribute food to members of our community who face barriers to accessing fresh veggies.

We're very excited to share City Beet veggies with even more of our neighbours in 2023. This year's Veggies for Neighbours are made possible through the generous support of Vancity's Envirofund and the Giustra Foundation's Grow Grants.
